Tineco A11 Review

If you’re looking for a cordless stick vac, the Tineco A11 Hero might be the best option to consider.

It’s one of the newest models on the market, featuring a slim design and extended runtime.

Opting for a particular cordless vacuum isn’t the easiest thing nowadays since almost all major brands offer at least one model.

The Tineco A11 Hero is on a more affordable side, so it’s good if you’re on a budget.

However, it doesn’t lack any of the popular and useful features you need for easy cleaning.

Take a moment to read the review below as we talk about its features, specifications, and why you might like it.

This Vacuum isn’t For You:

  • If you want to clean large pieces – if you’re often picking up cereal, rice and other larger pieces from your hardwood floor, you might not like how the A11 Hero performs. It does a slightly better job on low-pile rugs.
  • If you want convenient charging – though it doesn’t require lots of time to recharge, its charging station is somewhat bulky depending on how much storage space you have.
  • If it’s your only vac – A11 Hero is a lightweight vacuum that you should only use in between using a more powerful, full-sized cleaner for deep cleaning.

Features

Apart from featuring plenty of accessories that we’ll discuss later, the Tineco A11 Hero also has a few other things to offer as well.

It features continuous power mode switch lock that’s among the most useful features in stick vacs. Sticks usually have triggers that prevent them from spending battery life when not cleaning. Though the idea itself is quite convenient, it can be tiring and challenging to use.

Instead, Tineco included a lock to help you maintain suction without having to constantly hold the trigger.

Design

As we mentioned, the A11 Hero is a stick vac with a slim body, wide cleaner head, and motor/handle combination. It’s compact and lightweight much like all sticks from Tineco.

It features something the brand called Crystal Clear Beautility. In other words, this means sleek design and a crystal-clear body that allows you to see each component that’s inside.

Such transparency is unusual but also attractive and sleek-looking.

Size & Dimensions

Sticks are always slim and compact, but they can also be heavy and have a big cleaner head. However, the Tineco A11 Hero stick vacuum weighs 5.5 pounds, which is somewhere in the middle between being too heavy and too lightweight.

It measures 10.4×11.2×43.7 inches in total. Such a compact and slim body makes it easy to work with across all areas of your home.

Suction

Though there’s no specific information about its suction power, we know it’s somewhat average. In other words, the vac can pick up small particles of dust, dirt, and allergens.

However, it’s not the best to pick up litter, rice, popcorn, or other such pieces from bare floors. These are tricky for the vac to handle as it might just push them around instead of sucking them in.

Keep in mind that it comes with two suction modes that affect its battery life differently.

Accessories & Parts

Tineco A11 Hero is among the most impressive models when it comes to the number of its accessories and attachments. It comes with several basic parts, advanced and specialized tools, and maintenance tools.

Parts and attachments it comes with include:

  • The body
  • Wand
  • Spiral brush cleaning head
  • Crevice tool
  • Dusting brush
  • Soft roller head
  • Handheld power brush
  • Two lithium-ion batteries
  • Charging base

Warranty

This Tineco stick vacuum comes with a two-year worry-free warranty deal. It covers faulty materials and manufacturing for two years since the date of your purchase.

It doesn’t cover damages caused by repair or alterations carried out by an unauthorized person or service, normal wear, and tear of certain parts and damage caused by misuse.

Flooring

The Tineco A11 Hero does a great job on low-pile carpets, area rugs, and certain bare floors. It doesn’t do such a great job on hardwood, especially if you’re cleaning larger particles. This, however, depends on the tools you use as well as the suction power mode.

Carpet

Using regular mode with motorized tools, such as the Power brush, provides the best results on low-pile rugs. If you have high-pile carpets, you’ll maybe have to use non-motorized tools with regular suction mode. Using Max mode would probably result in pushing and pulling the carpet around.

In most cases, this stick vacuum has enough power to tackle basic cleaning tasks on different carpets as long as the pieces aren’t too large or heavy like, for example, kitty litter.

Hardwood

If you have hardwood, you’ll have to use non-motorized tools to avoid damaging the delicate surface of the floor, such as the gentle Dusting brush.

While you shouldn’t have any issues picking up dust, sand and pet hair, you’ll maybe struggle to pick up litter, rice and larger pieces of dirt and mud. In case you come across such dirt on your hardwood, make sure to use MAX mode and non-motorized tools.

Maneuverability

This one is quite easy to use thanks to its light weight and slim body. Its handle is comfortable and non-slippery, helping you make tight turns.

However, you should note that this one doesn’t get as flat like most other stick vacuums. This can make it tricky to clean under furniture depending on how high your furniture stands, although it does feature a crevice tool for hard-to-reach areas.

It converts into a handheld for easier maneuverability in tight areas since there’s no flexible extension hose included.

Maintenance

Tineco A11 Hero comes with handy, easy-to-use maintenance tools that simplify the maintenance process.

The first thing you should know is that this stick vacuum comes with a few maintenance tools such as the pre-cleaning filter tool, hair cleaning tool, and an extra microfiber pre-filter.

For maintenance, you’ll have to empty the dust bin whenever it’s full. You’ll also have to clean the pre-filter when you notice it’s dirty.

HEPA filters should also be washed, and you have to clean the brushrolls whenever hair and other stuff wraps around them. Make sure to check the Power brush, as well as other brush accessories frequently.

Noise

When it’s in regular mode, the unit is quiet and won’t disturb the rest of the household. This is great for families with children or those who live in apartment buildings.

It’s typically quiet, so any excessive noise you might hear could indicate clogging or dirty canister/filter.

Battery (Charge Time)

Tineco A11 Hero cordless vacuum comes with two detachable batteries that provide about 20% longer runtime than other Tineco sticks.

You get about sixty minutes of runtime if you use both batteries at the same time. Independently, each runs for about 30 minutes on regular mode and 7.5 minutes in MAX mode. This is without motorized tools.

The vacuum takes approximately 3.5 hours to charge each battery.

Cordless or Cord?

This is a cordless vacuum that’s battery-operated. As such, it’s considered more convenient since you won’t have to worry about changing sockets or storing the power cord. However, consider its battery life, and the time it takes to recharge.

Bag or Bagless?

It’s a bagless stick vacuum that comes with a 0.6l dust canister. The canister is see-through, allowing you to see when it’s time to empty it. It’s recommended you empty the canister after each use, so it’s always ready for the next time.

Filter

Its 4-level HEPA filtration captures 99.99% of particles, dust, and allergens without expelling them back into the air. It expels non-allergenic air maintaining your house fresh and clean.

The filters are washable and reusable, so make sure to give them a rinse now and then.

Pets

If you have pets, you probably know the importance of a good vacuum. Tineco A11 Hero proved useful in homes with pets, but you’ll maybe have to spend some time getting used to how it works on carpets and hardwood.

Kitty Litter

As we mentioned, Tineco A11 Hero might not be the best choice for larger particles such as kitty litter. However, this is only on bare floors where you’ll probably have to use MAX mode to pick it up. If you still want to get the most out of its batteries, place the litter box somewhere else.

Pet Hair

This cordless vacuum picks up pet hair quite efficiently and with ease. It comes with several attachments that can help you, depending on where the hair is. It has enough power to pick up even the most persistent hair, but it’s recommended you use non-motorized tools to prevent the hairs from tangling.

Additional Options/Information

We mentioned that it features a trigger that allows you to make the most of its battery life by using it only when the vac is also in use. However, there’s also the Continuous Power mode that’s much better for cleaning larger areas, since you won’t have to keep holding the trigger.

Is The Tineco A11 Hero For You?

If you want a cordless vacuum to maintain your floors clean between deep-cleaning sessions with your full-sized vac, this might be the right choice.

It’s simple, lightweight, and easy to maneuver with regardless of the floor surface. Plus, it comes with quite a few handy accessories – Power brush, Dusting brush, and crevice tool to name a few; and two batteries to enhance its performance.
