Shark TruePet NV752 Review

How often do you have to clean after your pets? Most furry friends tend to make a mess that calls for a vacuum cleaner at least once a day.

If it sounds familiar, you might want to check out the Shark TruePet NV752. It’s one of the most popular upright vacuums in Shark’s Rotator series that’s ideal for pet owners.

This is a versatile unit that’s quite easy to use. It’s a Lift-Away model, so you can use it in a few different ways on various floors, including hard floors, stairs, and above-floor surfaces.

In this review, we’ve examined the Shark NV752, so stick around to read more about its features, specifications, and performance.

This Vacuum is For You:

  • If you have combined floors – this Shark upright vacuum performs rather well on both carpeted and hard floors. Its suction and set of features make it easy to use on these surfaces.
  • If you need a versatile unit – since it’s a Lift-Away, the unit is quite versatile and straightforward to use. This makes it suitable for above-floor cleaning and carrying from one room to another.
  • If you’re prone to allergies – its HEPA filtration traps up to 99.99% of dust and allergens.

This Vacuum isn’t For You:

  • If you have a multi-level home – though the Lift-Away feature makes it easy to carry around, you should note that this is a rather heavy unit.
  • If you have thin, lightweight mats – because its suction is as powerful, the vac might be challenging to move on thin mats.
  • If you have arthritis – the Shark NV752 is quite heavy, and it takes a lot of wrist movement to move it across different surfaces. It’s that much trickier to use on a thick carpet, especially pile carpet.

Possibly the most important thing is its convenience and versatility in cleaning. Its fingertip controls play a significant role in this since they make the unit that much easier to use.

On top of that, the Anti-Allergen Complete Seal technology ensures that all of the dirt remains inside the machine. It doesn’t allow any of it back into your breathing space, which is ideal for allergy-prone people.

This Shark NV752 upright vacuum also has two modes allowing you to go from carpets to bare floors and the other way around with ease. It features LED lights on the handle and floor nozzle.

The Lift-Away design is a huge part of its convenience and ease of use. It makes the NV752 upright vacuum versatile and easy to use on above-floor surfaces. For this reason, you’ll find it easy to use on upholstery and stairs although it’s a bit on a heavy side.

You can detach the motor part and use the ergonomically designed handle to carry the vac from one room to another. On top of that, its cleaner head is quite wide, allowing you to clean more on an initial pass.

Size & Dimensions

One thing you’ll notice is that the Shark NV752 Lift-Away is quite large. It’s also somewhat heavy at 16.7 pounds. This makes it a bit tricky to use even with the Lift-Away function.

It measures 13.2×11.9×45 inches in total, which might also make storage a bit difficult. Due to its size and weight, the unit is a bit cumbersome and requires some getting used to.

However, the weight of this upright vacuum has a role and is to keep the cleaner pressed onto the floor so no dirt particles can escape.

This one has two suction modes meant for bare floors and carpet. This allows you to choose depending on the surface you’re cleaning.

In both cases, suction is quite strong and can tackle most types of dirt and dust. It easily picks up even the most embedded dirt, pet hair, sand, and other such particles. However, it’s equally as efficient in cleaning larger pieces such as kibble, rice, and cereal.

Accessories & Parts

This one comes with some well-designed accessories and parts that make it more versatile. It features a motorized TruePet brush for cleaning the pet hair from carpet and bare floors.

It also comes with a dusting brush attachment, a crevice tool, an upholstery pet tool, a caddy for canister and a bag for all the attachments and accessories. The vac also includes an attachment with a microfiber pad that’s ideal for bare floors and hard floor.

This Shark upright model comes with a five-year warranty from the manufacturer. The deal covers damage caused by faulty manufacturing and materials but is otherwise quite limited.

It doesn’t cover damage caused by unauthorized repair, neglect, and misuse. It also doesn’t cover belts, filters and other parts that wear and tear with use.

In this review, we’ve already mentioned how the Shark NV752 upright vacuum is meant for various types of floors, thanks to its swivel steering. It performs well on both carpets and bare floors, though the quality of performance tends to vary. It mostly depends on the attachments you use as well as the type of dirt you’re cleaning.

The motorized brush roll of this upright is ideal for carpets regardless of how thick they are. It picks up even the most embedded dirt and pet hair from high-pile carpets with ease.

However, it might struggle with thin and lightweight mats since its suction tends to pick them up. As a result, the vac gets stuck onto the mat and is a bit tricky to move.

The Shark NV752 Lift-Away upright comes with an attachment that’s meant for the delicate surface of the hard floor. It features a microfiber pad that won’t damage the surface of your floor like a motorized tool might.

It’s an efficient tool that helps pick up different pieces and particles while being easy to move across such a floor.

At this point, you probably understand why the TruePet upright is a bit tricky to maneuver with. Though it’s a Lift-Away and comes with a caddy, the unit takes some getting used to.

In other words, it’s heavy, which might be a problem for people with arthritis. Upright vacuums are generally tricky to move up and down the stairs as well.

Other than that, the Shark Lift-Away is relatively simple to move around furniture and other obstacles. It might not reach under your furniture, but some of its tools could help with that.

This one comes with a reusable filter you should wash from time to time. The cleaning process isn’t complicated at all, but it plays a significant role in the suction power of upright vacuums.

You should also empty its dirt cup regularly. This is quite easy to do, and you maybe won’t have to do it after each use. You might also want to give it a quick rinse now and then.

The Shark TruePet NV752 is at an average level when it comes to noise. It’s not the loudest, but you’ll definitely be able to hear it working more so when on thick, high-pile carpets.

Also, smaller and narrower attachments make more noise than the wider ones.

Cordless or Cord?

This is a corded unit that comes with a 30ft power cable. It gives you more freedom since you can take your time cleaning without worrying about battery life.

However, you’ll have to work around changing sockets and re-plugging the unit depending on the size of your home.

Bag or Bagless?

The Shark NV752 Lift-Away is a bagless cleaner that features a see-through dust cup. You can clearly see when it’s full and requires emptying, which is also relatively easy to do.

The dirt bin has the capacity of some 1.4 dry quarts which should be enough for most houses and apartments.

Prone to allergies? With Shark TruePet NV752 you get a HEPA filtration system which captures 99.99% of dust and allergen particles.

This Shark model has a HEPA filter that traps up to 99.99% of dust and allergens. It has another filter that’s reusable and washable, and as such, it requires some attention and maintenance.

The entire filtration system is quite impressive and makes the unit suitable for allergy-prone people.

Cleaning after pets can be quite tiring at times, so it’s essential to have a powerful unit for the job. The Shark NV752 Lift-Away is excellent for picking up hair, kibble, kitty litter, and other such pieces and particles.

Kitty Litter

This Shark model might be a good choice if your cat tends to make a mess around its litter box. The vac has enough suction to pick up the pieces, but make sure they’re dry. Wet kitty litter could damage the cleaner in several ways.

Also, make sure to use a non-motorized tool since those can throw the pieces around instead of picking them up.

Pet Hair

You probably won’t have any issues using this Shark vacuum to pick up pet hair from carpets and hardwood. Its suction and filters make the vac ideal for this type of job.

Still, keep in mind that you should clean its brushes and tools if the hairs are long. If not, the tools might get clogged and cause suction to weaken.

Is the Shark TruePet NV752 For You?

If you’re looking for a powerful, full-sized vac, the Shark Lift-Away might be the right choice. Though it takes some getting used to due to maneuverability and weight, this cleaner with swivel steering is efficient at cleaning different types of floors, as we’ve already mentioned in this review.

It comes with quality accessories and has a reliable filtration system which allows versatility and some added convenience.
